S&OP Planning Horizons - "What Does Good Look Like - Part 5"

Executive S&OP is a regular and repeatable process that allows the executive to participate in the execution of strategy execution, setting the flow rates for the business, supply, and demand coming together into shipments. The RIGHT PLANNING HORIZONS and associated processes are necessary to keep S&OP as both a near-term executable plan and long-term strategic plan.

In Part 5 of "What Does Good Look Like?", we look at the right planning horizons, the components of those horizons, and how to calculate what is needed based on an understanding of a prototypical bill of materials.

In Part 1, we began an extended discussion on how to know whether each S&OP component is operating correctly, overviewing the eight areas we will cover in this series. Each area will point us back to process, data, and presentation (if improvements are needed).
